1. Remember how I’ve been telling you we are totally getting spoiled with beautiful weather this winter here in Iowa?! Here’s what I mean:

That’s how it has been all season. Only a couple snows and each time- boom the next day is gorgeous. Love it!
2. I went to a cooking demo at our local cooking store on Saturday with my mother and law. She spoiled me rotten. Allow me to introduce you to all my new toys:

1} Cast Iron Dutch Oven – SCORE!!!
2} Large Ceramic Soup Tureen with Ladle {Pfaltzgraff Pistoulet Soup Crock}
3} Rolling Pin Rubber Rings {to go with #6}
4} Mini Cordial Glasses! So cute! {I have an obsession with all things mini!}
5} Vintage Table Cloth {my mother in law and I are obsessed with all things vintage!}
6} Tapered Bamboo Rolling Pin
7} Norpro Mini Whisk {for my collection of mini things!}
8} Norpro Mini Stainless Steel Scoop {told you, I’m obsessed}
Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE her?!
3.We tasted some very interesting kinds of bruschetta. {More on that in another post.} We also learned “ch” in italian is pronounced “k” and there for it is pronounced [brusˈkeːtta] not brew-shet-ta like we’ve been saying it our whole lives. Oops.
Bruschetta consists of roasted bread rubbed with garlic and topped with extra-virgin olive oil, salt and pepper.
Check out my two tomato bruschetta recipe, here!
5. The one thing I hate about cooking in a crockpot is I have to smell the delicious food cooking all day long. Torture.
6. While I was typing this my two year old daughter colored ALL over her face with permanent red marker. Think I’m kidding? I wish I was. . .
