Glace` Decorating Icing

The 411 on Glace` Icing:

This icing recipe is fanfreakingtastic. The go-to decorating icing! This icing was made famous by Toba Garret: Creative Cookies. She makes gorgeous cookies, check out her book sometime! I love this icing because it dries hard, stays shiny, and the colors stay bright! If you’d like you can make the icing up to 4-5 days ahead of time, store it in the fridge, airtight, either wrapped in a pastry bag or in a plastic container with wax paper on the surface!

Glace` Icing

1 cup confectioners’ sugar

2 teaspoons milk

2 teaspoons light corn syrup

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

assorted food coloring

In a small bowl, stir together confectioners’ sugar and milk until smooth. Beat in corn syrup and almond extract until icing is smooth and glossy. If icing is too thick, add more corn syrup.

Divide into separate bowls, and add food colorings to each to desired intensity. Dip cookies, or paint them with a brush.
