Cream Cheese Buttercream Frosting

7 Mar

This Cream Cheese Buttercream Frosting recipe is one of my most requested recipes! I use it on red velvet cookies, cakes, cupcakes, even cheesecake! I also put it on carrot cake, raw apple cake and so much more! It whips so beautifully, and holds its shape when it dries so its perfect for piping! So there you are, with love from my kitchen- to yours!

Cream Cheese Buttercream Frosting

1 cup {2 sticks} butter or margarine {Room Temperature}

1 {8oz.} package of cream cheese {Room Temperature}

5 cups powdered sugar

2 Tablespoons vanilla

Using the whisk attachment of a stand mixer {or a hand beater} whip the butter and cream cheese on high for about 5 minutes until light, fluffy, and combined throughout. Scrape the bowl with a spatula. Add the powdered sugar a cup at a time, mixing on low, until its all incorporated. Add vanilla and mix until combined. Whip frosting at medium-high until light and fluffy.
