Bacon Wrapped Asparagus in Heavenly Maple Butter Sauce

So  it isn’t quite peak asparagus season anymore, but I can’t wait one more day to share this recipe with you. You know all about my loving relationship with asparagus as I talked about here, and here but this flavor combination is out of this world delicious. Seriously, a match made in heaven. This sauce would turn the most avid asparagus hater into a believer. Not only that but this sauce would be so divine on so many things, chicken, pork, sausage, beef, green beans. Once you try it I’m sure you will consider putting it everything. So yummy and SO easy to whip up. You will blow minds when you serve this to family and friends. This is an easy, attractive, scrumptious way to serve asparagus.

Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 30 mintures

Serves: 4

Ingredients

4 pieces thick sliced bacon

24 asparagus spears, frozen

4 wooden skewers, soaked in water for at least an hour, and cut in half.

Directions

Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

Lay bacon evenly on a microwave safe dish lined with paper towels.

Cover bacon with paper towel and microwave on high 2-4 minutes to partially cook.

Wrap partially cooked bacon around 6 asparagus spears. Secure with 2 skewers per bundle.

Grill bacon-wrapped asparagus for 4-6 minutes on each side or until bacon in crisp.

Remove from grill and drizzle with maple butter sauce. (Recipe Below)

Heavenly Maple Butter Sauce

Ingredients

1 Tbsp butter

1/2 cup maple syrup

1 Tbsp brown sugar

Directions

Mix butter, syrup and sugar in small microwave-safe dish and cook on high 1 minute. Stir to dissolve.

Serve on top of bacon wrapped asparagus, chicken, pork, sausage or beef. Or, whatever you can think of!
